EMPIRE STATE BUILDING LAUNCHES FIRST ANNUAL PHOTO CONTEST EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHINESE VISITORS

September 20, 2016

New York, NY, September 20, 2016 – Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESRT) today announced the launch of its first annual “Journey to the Heart of New York City” photo contest exclusively for Chinese fans of the Empire State Building (ESB). Amateur photographers of any skill level may submit original images highlighting the iconic landmark or the views from its world famous Observatory via Sina Weibo or WeChat for a chance to win a Nikon 3200 DSLR camera with customized with Empire State Building camera strap.

Coinciding with Golden Week, a popular time of year for Chinese citizens to travel, ESB’s photo contest invites Chinese visitors, fans, and students to share their travel memories of the must-see destination.

“The Empire State Building is the most recognizable and photographed landmark in New York City.  What a better way to enhance a visit to the top of the heart of New York City than to enter the photo competition,” said Anthony E. Malkin, Chairman, and CEO of ESRT.

There are two ways to enter the contest: 1) Entrants must follow the official Sina Weibo account of the Empire State Building and tag @ESB in the photo, or 2) Entrants must follow the official WeChat account (ID: esbochina) and submit photos via private message. Entries will be accepted from September 20, 2016, through October 21, 2016. The winner will be announced in November 2016.
